Cong MLC seeks action against Talasani
Congress MLC MS Prabhakar has alleged that Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav was acting like ‘de facto Chief Minister’ of Telangana.Speaking to media persons on the Assembly premises, Prabhakar alleged that Talasani had been conducting review meetings with the officials of various departments, which were not part of his ministry.
Hyderabad: Congress MLC MS Prabhakar has alleged that Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav was acting like ‘de facto Chief Minister’ of Telangana.Speaking to media persons on the Assembly premises, Prabhakar alleged that Talasani had been conducting review meetings with the officials of various departments, which were not part of his ministry.
He said Talasani had been calling officials to his official residence or chamber in the Secretariat to hold review meetings. Despite being Home Minister, Naini Narasimha Reddy never called any senior police official to his residence. But Talasani summoned City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy to his residence reportedly for a review meeting.
Similarly, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar and other senior officials were being summoned on regular basis for the meetings with the Minister, Prabhakar said. He asked whether Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao delegated such powers to Talasani. If not, then the Chief Minister should take immediate action against Talasani for violating the constitutional norms.
He said Talasani had been serving as a Minister without even acceptance of his resignation as the TDP MLA. Therefore, it was wrong to expect any moral behaviour from him. He said that the Chief Minister should at least issue a clarification in this regard.
