Jagtiyal (Karimnagar): Former Minister T Jeevan Reddy on Saturday said while the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu could use his diplomatic skills successfully and convince the TRS government to release 7,000 cusecs of water to the AP farmers.

But, Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekara Rao had failed to persuade his counterpart to give its surplus power to the farmers in Telangana who were suffering due to frequent power cuts.

Speaking to the media in the town on Sunday, Jeevan Reddy said it was strange that KCR did not take up the issue of power shortage at the meeting of the two Chief Ministers on Friday in Hyderabad.

The wisdom and foresight shown while solving the water problem between the two states should also be shown while dealing with the other important issues, he said.

The former Minister said the farmers suffered heavy loss as their Kharif crops withered away.

Distribution of assets and liabilities between two states as specified in AP Reorganisation Act should in the ratio of 48 to 58 per cent.

But the TRS government was not demanding its full share of power

He said the Chief Minister had every right to demand Telangana’s share of power.

He lashed out at KCR for failing miserably in protecting the interests of the people of Telangana region.

The Chief Minister, instead, was wasting his time on issues like Vaastu to run the government, he lamented.
