Hyderabad: Deputy Leader of the Congress party in the Telangana State’s Legislative Council P Sudhakar Reddy accused the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) for visiting Delhi with hidden agenda. The CM was wasting time, rather than raising genuine issues with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He asked why KCR did not demand for the immediate allocation of 500 MW of power to meet the needs of drinking water and irrigation, and for the re-designing of Polavarm project, otherwise, which will result in submergence of villages in Khammam district. He said, “KCR visits Delhi with hidden agenda but raises issues with the Prime Minister that are not elaborated, and why didn’t he sought concrete assurances from the Prime Minister.”

The Congress party wants the KCR government to demand the Centre to re-design the Polavaram project in Andhra Pradesh which has been declared as the national project. It thinks if it is not redesigned the project will have adverse impact in Khammam. Sudhakar Reddy demanded KCR to convene an all party meeting to discuss about Polavaram project and the proposed amendments to the AP Reorganization Act 2014.
