Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has asked the Jindal group to submit proposals for establishing a steel plant in Bayyaram, Khammam district, in case SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited), the Government of India enterprise, backed out of the project.

A high-level delegation from the company including CEO cum Director Niraj Kumar met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat here on Thursday. Members of the delegation requested Chandrashekar Rao to give opportunity to the company for establishing a steel plant in view of their vast expertise in the sector.

Responding to their plea, the Chief Minister invited them to submit plans for Bayyaram Steel Plant. Meanwhile, Jindal representatives expressed interest to supplying pipes for the drinking water grid. Niraj Kumar stated that they can supply pipes in different sizes suggested by the government.
