Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy on Saturday said news channels should focus on the problems being faced by the people and suggest solutions that would bring credibility to them in society. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating Nalgonda Digitial Cable (NDC) Network Services in the town, the Home Minister recalled that Nalgonda district was synonymous with agitations and politics.

Nalgonda: Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy on Saturday said news channels should focus on the problems being faced by the people and suggest solutions that would bring credibility to them in society. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating Nalgonda Digitial Cable (NDC) Network Services in the town, the Home Minister recalled that Nalgonda district was synonymous with agitations and politics.

It was a continuing tradition in the district that people would always on the side of the opposition. This time, the district people were backed the TRS in the last elections, he added. He suggested the local news channel to highlight the issues being faced by the people in the district. When this local news channel gained the confidence of the district people, it would emerge as a State-wide news channel, he said.

He congratulated the management of the NDC Network on the occasion. Nalgonda MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy said media should be impartial and try to bring the public issues to the notice of the government. Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy condemned the news about the State government’s plans to restrict the entry of media persons into the Secretariat, the administrative headquarters of the State.

He questioned why the TRS government feared the media when it was not committing any mistakes. NDC Network managing director N Venkata Ramana Reddy and director Jithender Reddy were among those who attended the programme.
