The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner and Special Officer, Somesh Kumar on Thursday said that failure to remove this publicity material would result in traffic police removing all the unauthorised hoardings and banners and duly imposing heavy fines.

Citing High Court instructions, he said that the civic body would view violations seriously and apart from heavy penalties would even seize shops and establishments that flout the norms and set up hoardings, flex banners and signboards. On the roads being littered heavily with pamphlets and other publicity material, he directed the civic body and traffic police officers to curb the menace.

Somesh Kumar said for benefit of students and poor in numerous education institutions located iin Ameerpet,the GHMC will introduce the Rs 5 meals food scheme.
