Says TRS govt has no respect for women

Hyderabad: Finding fault with the behavior of the treasury benches towards Congress MLA D K Aruna in the State Assembly, Congress member Bhatti Vikramarka lashed at the government saying that the government had no respect towards women in the State.

Participating in the discussion on budget in Telangana Legislative Assembly here on Monday, Bhatti alleged that the government introduced ‘She Teams’ to curb eve-teasing in the State but the ruling party members had not shown any respect towards Congress women members and treasury benches almost resorted to eve-teasing DK Aruna. It was unfortunate that the government made woman MLA DK Aruna to tender apology when some heated exchange of words took place on the floor of the House recently.

Alleging that the behavior of ruling party members during the Governor’s speech in the House was condemnable, Bhatti alleged that it was unfortunate that the government succeeded in making Congress MLA Sampath Kumar, who stood on the bench, afraid of attack by the ruling party members, to tender apologies to the treasury benches instead of tendering apologies to him by the ruling party members.

Intervening at this juncture, Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy said Congress floor leader K Jana Reddy had made Sampath to tender apologies and not by the ruling party members. He also made it clear that the ruling party members had not dishonored D K Aruna. Continuing his speech, Bhatti said the government showed censored video footage and demanded the government to show it once again to the floor leaders.
