Free Wi-Fi in 200 GHMC areas soon: KTR
Telengana IT Minister K T Rama Rao\'s dream of free and Wi fi network in Hyderabad (or at least GHMC arena ) is coming to be true. The GHMC has already recognized 200 centers suitable for wi fi services and submitted proposals to the state government to implement the same and release of funds for installation of routers and servers at 45 key locations across the city.
Telengana IT Minister K T Rama Rao's dream of free and Wi fi network in Hyderabad (or at least GHMC arena ) is coming to be true. The GHMC has already recognized 200 centers suitable for wi fi services and submitted proposals to the state government to implement the same and release of funds for installation of routers and servers at 45 key locations across the city.
GHMC commissioner even allocated 10 crores for the project and the prominent centers zeroed in for wi-fi services include Indira park, KBR park, Sanjeevayya Park and other places including central Mall, Punjagutta, necklace road etc. In the pilot phase wi fi services will be provided for 3 hours in select locations and later it will be given on full fledged and round the clock basis. Soon an email and phone number will be provided to citizens registered who can avail a username and a password for the wi-fi Already Hi Tech city, Madhapur,Kondapur area 8 kms is having wi-fi services, say GHMC sources.
