Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to take a final call on the issues like land acquisition for water grid at the Collectors’ conference to be held here on April 9 and 10 at MCHR institute. During the two-day meeting, KCR will give directions and solutions to overcome the bottlenecks being faced by the district administration in implementation of the various flagship schemes. KCR will seek details about land acquisition for drinking water grid, progress of Mission Kakatiya, summer action plan, preparedness of district administrations for the next Kharif and Haritha Haaram scheme among others.
The agenda for Collectors’ conference will be finalised in Cabinet meeting slated for Tuesday evening. According to sources, the Cabinet will take stock of the law and order situation particularly in view of the recent encounter and the information that SIMI activists were in the State. The Cabinet will also give nod to various development programmes under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in view of impending elections to the civic body.
Further, this meeting will also discuss and approve increase of divisions in GHMC from the existing 150 to 200. It is learnt that KCR and his Council of Ministers will approve a master plan-to make city devoid of slums, to cleanse Hussain Sagar, construction of multi-level flyovers and widening of roads for smooth flow of traffic etc. It may be recalled that KCR indicated his intentions to give facelift to Hyderabad few months ago. However, no progress took place in this connection till date.
The Cabinet is expected to discuss Prof Haragopal committee’s report to TSPSC on syllabus and job notifications. This assumes importance in the wake of widespread dissent among unemployed youth over the delay in job notifications. Another important issue that would be discussed is the Chukka Ramaiah report for modification of school syllabus in tune with Telangana history and culture.
