An audience of a full-packed cinema theatre in Jeedimetla had a miraculous escape when the roof caved in, leaving the theatre operator critically injured along with three other persons who were watching a movie on Monday. According to Jeedimetla police, due to the heavy downpour that lashed the city since Saturday night, the roof of Ranga theatre in Jeedimetla came down like a pack of cards, injuring four persons.

According to Jeedimetla police, due to the heavy downpour that lashed the city since Saturday night, the roof of Ranga theatre in Jeedimetla came down like a pack of cards, injuring four persons.
The theatre operator, Karunakar Reddy, 24, a native of Siddipet, was critically injured. “He received severe head injuries and was bleeding profusely,” the cops said.“Suddenly a loud noise was heard followed by sudden fall of the roof. The audience broke open the doors and made their exit besides assisting others to safety,” said a theatre worker who also received minor injuries. Karunkar was immediately rushed to Ram Hospital in Shapur Nagar and reported to be critical. The other injured persons were also admitted to the same hospital. Fire Service personnel have been entrusted with the investigation of finding the cause behind the sudden fall of the roof.
