Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) and other Muslim groups have threatened to launch state-wide protests in Telangana against the state government if the independent enquiry into the Police killing of five under trail prisoners doesn’t take place.

Rejecting the probe by Special Investigation Team (SIT) ordered by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government, United Muslim Forum (group of Muslim organizations) organized a public meeting in the old city of Hyderabad on Tuesday night.

Stating that the five under trial prisoners were murdered in cold blood, MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi said that as the under trials were handcuffed and chained, the police claims were baseless that they tried to snatch weapons and escape. Owaisi further demanded suspension of the 17 policemen involved during the escort of the under trials from Warangal Central Jail.
