Enters into tiff with Mahabubabad MP
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari lost his cool over a tribal leader Bhukya Sanjeev Naik, who had gone to meet the former in his chambers in the State Secretariat on Wednesday. According to Naik, he went to meet the Deputy Chief Minister along with Mahabubabad MP Sitaram Naik with an intention to give suggestions on the prestigious KG to PG Scheme. The Minister was talking to Telugu Desam MP Garikapati Mohan Rao and others at that time.
According to Sanjeev Naik, as soon as they entered the chambers of Srihari, the Deputy CM shouted at them and asked them how they could enter the room when he was in a meeting with other VIPs, and asked them to leave the room. An upset Sanjeev Naik, who came out of the Deputy CM’s chamber, picked up an argument with the MP Sitaram Naik. He said this was what the Tribals had got from the TS government for the active role they had played in the struggle for separate Telangana.
The tribal leader said he was thoroughly humiliated by the Deputy Chief Minister and added that he might not be a big leader but he had fought for the cause of poor Tribals. “It is unfortunate that the Deputy Chief Minister had meted out such a shabby treatment to me,” he said. Embarrassed over the sudden development, the TRS MP Sitaram Naik tried to distance himself from the issue saying that Sanjeev Naik had come on his own to meet Srihari and he did not bring him. This led to an argument between both the Naiks.
Sanjeev Naik said he had come to Secretariat only because the MP had asked him to go with him. The argument between these two attracted the attention of the people who gathered near the Ministers’ Chambers. Up on knowing about the manner in which the tribal leaders had created a scene in the lobbies, Srihari agreed to talk to them and accept a memorandum. Sanjeev Naik then urged Srihari to see that a primer in Banjara language was provided for the tribal students from KG to PG as they do not understand English or Telugu.
