Cadre to be imparted lessons designed by the Chief Minister

Hyderabad: With a view to empowering TRS leaders, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is making sure that every leader, especially the first-timers will make best use of the political training camp to be held from May 2 to 4 at the picturesque Vijay Vihar guest house abutting Nagarjunasagar.

The Chief Minister, who conceived the training programme to prepare the party cadre in making the welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries, has meticulously planned the entire schedule. He invited former Chief Election Commissioner J M Lyngdoh and noted economist Ch Hanumantha Rao for the inaugural session.

The training programme faculty are drawn from the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), who were briefed exhaustively by the Chief Minister. The training programme, which will cover ten subjects for two hours each, has the personal touch of KCR. The Chief Minister, who once used to take grooming classes for the TDP cadre when he was with that party, had a detailed discussion with the faculty and guided them in drawing up the syllabus.

According to insiders, KCR is understood to have made himself clear to the faculty members about what kind of content he was looking to train the cadre. He wanted them to break down the hardcore economic theories into simpler terms so that the public representative would easily relate to their local conditions. Such lesson plan would be better for them than making them understand the theories of Amartya Sen, KCR is believed to have shared with the ASCI faculty.

Organising such programmes is not new to KCR. When he was with the TDP in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, KCR was considered to be the main architect of the syllabus for the TDP training classes held at NTR Trust Bhavan. He had delivered lectures on several issues to the rank and file of TDP.

While the Chief Minister will take up classes on politics and human relations, the ASCI experts would speak on urban and rural development, agriculture, budget preparation, law and order, forest and industries among other topics. The subject experts would make a presentation to MPs, MLAs and MLCs for one hour on each subject and this would be followed by an interactive question-answer session for another hour. On the concluding day, ZP chairpersons, mayors, TRS district presidents and constituency in-charges would be joining them in the programme.

Meanwhile, elaborate arrangements have been made at Vijay Vihar guest house for the three-day session. The Chief Minister is said to have ordered the rank and file to ensure that there were no banners, flags or cutouts anywhere near the venue. He told them that it should be strict business-like session and not a public meeting. The party has taken up the programme seriously and barred the entry of the media to avoid disturbance. This programme was in fact scheduled to be held long back but was postponed due to unavoidable reasons.
