Hyderabad: Wooing international investors, Telangana Information Technology Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on Sunday asserted that Hyderabad was a favourite destination for companies to explore and expand their businesses.

During the fourth day of his tour in the US, Rama Rao addressed an ‘IT Serve Alliance’ conference of 150 companies and then ‘Vibrant Hyderabad’ programme. Interestingly, those attended the conference announced donations of USD 2 lakh for the prestigious programmes of Water Grid and Mission Kakatiya taken up by Telangana government.

IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan made a presentation on the flagship programmes and said Hyderabad was a unique place for investments as there would be no power cuts in Telangana State. Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao thanked the donors and said the Telangana government would become a power surplus State in two years as focus was on to generate power four times more than it needed.

He said Hyderabad was noted for IT, Aerospace, Health, Pharma and Education segments and manufacturing companies. The Minister urged the companies to come forward with investments in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana.

Rama Rao tried to portray the best facilities and the yet-to-be- launched industrial policy in the country with abundant land bank of 1.50 lakh acres for disposal to industries. “Industrialists and businessmen should come forward with investments to take part in the efforts to make the fledgling State into a golden Telangana,” he added.
