  • Heart-wrenching tale of a 12-yr-old diabetic orphan girl
  • Her elder sister is mentally challenged, brother deserted family
  • She appeals for financial help to meet medical expenses

The 12-year-old orphan, Sirisha of Mirasipalli village in Kottakota mandal, who has been suffering from diabetes for seven years, has appealed to people for liberal financial aid to meet her medical expenses, as she cannot afford the costly treatment. Sirisha is one of the three children of Kurmanna and Chandramma, daily-wage labourers of Tipudampalli village of Atmakur mandal. The couple, along with their two daughters and a son, came to the village 20 years ago to eke out a living.

On one occasion, Sirisha fell unconscious and doctors at Kurnool Government Hospital diagnosed her with diabetes. She has been surviving on insulin since then. Her father Kurmanna died after falling sick some time ago. Her mother Chandramma turned a labourer and had cared for the children, only for a short period of time. She too died a few months ago due to ill-health rendering the children orphans.

As Sirisha’s elder sister Mogulamma is a mentally challenged, Sirisha need to take care of the family. She was not getting any help from her brother staying in Hyderabad. Villagers who are helping the orphans, have been asking philanthropists to donate liberally for the medical expenses of Sirisha. The villagers lamented that Sirisha could not even go to school.

Any financial help can be credited to Andhra Bank’s Kottakota branch SB Account Number 033410100039957 (IFSC code: ANDB 0000334). People who wish to share their feelings with the little girl could phone her on 85018 76742.
