During the review meeting, it came to the notice of the Minister that in MMTS Phase-II there were two important hitches, otherwise the work was progressing well on Charlapally-Ghatkesar and Bollarum-Medchal stretches. The first issue was a land dispute with Defence authorities on Sanathnagar-Ammuguda line involving 4 km stretch. The Union Minister assured that he would take up this issue with Defence authorities and resolve it.

The second issue was about extending Falaknuma-Umdanagar line to Airport, for which GMR was not agreeing. The Minister assured that he would take up this issue with Civil Aviation, Urban Development and Home Ministries along with GMR Management and sort out the issue. With the resolution of these issues, the project is likely to be completed by June-December 2017.

It was said that Peddapally-Karimnagar-Nizamabad project work was progressing well and likely to be completed by March next year and commissioning of the project would be done in the next six months. Additional funds of Rs 50 crore were required to complete the project and the Railway Minister would be requested for the same. The new Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under Bridges (RUBs) at various busy locations were also discussed. For the RUB works, where no level crossing gates were available, the GHMC has to propose the works or deposit terms.

In case of the ROB at Kandikalgate (LC 6) and RUB work at Uppuguda (LC No. 5), the SCR authorities have agreed to temporarily stop the work and speak to the locals. Hyderabad Metro Water Supply & Sewerage Board MD Jagadishwar Reddy requested the railways to resolve the issue of Godavari Water Pipeline crossing at Mettuguda Railway Colony to which the Railways have agreed to work out on the issue.
