Karimnagar: Hundreds of devotees thronged Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Kondagattu of Mallial mandal on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pedda Hanuman on Wednesday. The temple, which had nearly one lakh devotees from different parts of the State visiting it on Wednesday alone, reverberated with “Jai Hanuman” slogans. Hills of the shrine wore saffron look with devotees, who were on Anjaneya Swamy Deeksha, thronging the temple in saffron robes.


The main temple was jam-packed with devotees performing special prayers after taking a holy dip in the nearby pond. On the occasion, temple priests performed special pooja rituals such as Thirumangalam, Poornahuthi, Mantra vruksham, Homam, Sahastranamarchana, and Parayanam.


Local MLA Bodige Shobha, government officials and others participated in the celebrations. Speaking to the reporters, the MLA promised to take measures to lay ropeway to the temple. They was a proposal to arrange ropeway to carry devotees from bottom of the temple to hillocks, she said, and promised to speed up the process.
