Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who ordered a CID probe into the irregularities in the expenditure of the CM Relief Fund in January after complaints were received over the CMRF funds draining by some corporate and private hospitals had found funds being misused which are meant for poor patients in need of medical assistance.

Chandrasekhar Rao who ordered a CID probe into the irregularities in the expenditure of the CM Relief Fund in January after complaints were received over the CMRF funds draining by some corporate and private hospitals had found funds being misused which are meant for poor patients in need of medical assistance.


The probe conducted by questioning beneficiaries, brokers, hospitals and officials found that fake medical treatment bills were found to be submitted to claim funds from the CMRF. With the report being sent to the Chief Minister, the decision will be taken on recovering the amount involved in the scam.


Reports state that over Rs 36 lakh was found to be misused in 68 cases with submission of fake medical bills.
