Brushing aside the criticism against him and the protests by the Osmania University students who strongly reacted over the government’s move by burning down his effigies, KCR said that he will strive to achieve the goal no matter how much pressure or agitations are put up.


The Chief Minister continued the Swachh Hyderabad programme for the fourth day and interacted with the locals of Bowddha Nagar area in Secunderabad. In his recent visits to several localities in the city, KCR said that there was a lack of basic infrastructure in these areas and the government’s responsibility is to provide basic amenities – construct houses for poor, colleges, markets and hospitals need to be built.


Stating that the universities have surplus lands unused, the Chief Minister said that he won’t tolerate any petty politics for this decision and will acquire these lands for the poor. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed that the proposed Horticulture University by the Central Government did not need 500 acre and 50 acre land would be sufficient enough, said KCR.


KCR also said that hundreds of acres of land in the city is put up for race or golf course clubs, instead can be utilized for the poor.
