Leopard attacks cattle
The people of Gaddegudem village of Devarakadra mandal in the district are spending sleepless nights as a leopard is on the prowl in the village. On Saturday, the wild cat attacked a herd of cattle and killed a calf. Farmers are frightened that the leopard, which was found loitering in their agricultural fields, might attack them any time.
Mahabubnagar: The people of Gaddegudem village of Devarakadra mandal in the district are spending sleepless nights as a leopard is on the prowl in the village. On Saturday, the wild cat attacked a herd of cattle and killed a calf. Farmers are frightened that the leopard, which was found loitering in their agricultural fields, might attack them any time.
Moreover, they are tying up their cattle in the farms during the nights and coming home. Speaking to the media here on Saturday, one of the farmers, Mogulaiah said that he kept his cows and calf at his farm and came back on Friday night. When he went there on Saturday morning, he found the carcass of his calf, which was killed by the leopard. The worried villagers urged the officials of the Forest Department to take urgent steps and catch the leopard.
