During the last week, the district has been reeling under severe heat conditions. In 1947, Khammam district recorded the highest temperature of 47.2 degrees Celsius. And after 68 years on Saturday, it surpassed that record with a maximum of 48 degree Celsius.

And after 68 years on Saturday, it surpassed that record with a maximum of 48 degree Celsius. According to reports, nine people died of sunstroke in the district. As the day temperature is unbearable, people preferred to remain indoors.
