Tension as TRS men try to barge into TDP office. Tension prevailed at Telugu Desam Party (TDP) head office NTR Trust Bhavan on Tuesday as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and TDP workers almost came to blows when the Telangana party workers tried to lay siege to the party office.

The TRS workers led by Jubilee Hills Assembly segment in-charge P Vijaya Reddy staged a dharna in front of the TDP office in protest against the AP Chief Minister and TDP N Chandrababu Naidu’s comments against his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao over ‘cash-for-vote’ scandal.
Even as the party office was cordoned off by a heavy posse of policemen, the TRS activists tried to barge into the premises. The alert TDP workers immediately swung into action and obstructed TRS workers from entering into the office. In the melee, workers jostled from two sides. When the situation went out of control, police resorted to mild lathi-charge to disperse the mob.
To restore law and order on the busy Road No 3, Banjara Hills, several workers from two sides were also taken into preventive custody and shifted to nearby police stations. The TRS workers were also demanding the arrest of Naidu in connection with the ‘cash-for-vote’ scandal that came to light with the arrest of TDP senior leader A Revanth Reddy last week.
