GHMC has been failing TRS since June, 2014.

Last June around this time people living in Hyderabad were having highest expectations from the new govt particularly in the following areas. Alas! GHMC failed the people again and now failing TRS govt too. It is high time that the people at the helm of affairs in GHMC shall be replaced so that Bangaru Telangana is felt in GHMC area by every citizen soon.

GHMC lost one good winter and summer upto April 2015 to carry out repair and maintenance of all roads in the Greater Hyderabad Area.
GHMC waited for govt to de-silt the lakes in its area and the result is that this rainy season the storage capacity shall further get reduced and due that the percolation to recharge the ground water table also gets negatively impacted.
The avenue plantation was not taken up by the GHMC in a sustainable manner and there are several instances (live examples) where samplings are allowed to die.
The works carried out after the formation of Telangana State by the GHMC are of the same Congress quality. Some of the works are done in such a way that they remain cash cows for the contractor to do the same work again and again. The best example are the manhole caps.
The so called drive to clean the city and provide best sanitation services remained as a drive and it was replaced by Swachch Bharat drive again. This drive again has become a political game as the filth remains and gets accumulated again and again.
If one drives from Vaddepalli Enclave to BJP office via Nalla Cheruvu in Kukatpally we can find that we are far far away from achieving Bangaru Telangana in this area as the roads are bad cut, dug and damaged with several speed breakers that make spine break as one rides on these roads. This road welcomes you with garbage smell, drain overflowing, narrow roads.
Yet TRS can win the GHMC Elections provided it can utilize the time upto December, 2015 to transform the city with small but significant improvements as indicated above. For this GHMC needs to adopt a new way of working and making each employee objectively accountable for the work assigned to her / him. The next increment or promotion due shall be linked to the fulfilment of the accountability assigned to each employee. This is the only way the Telangana State govt can leverage the strength of the GHMC Employees and make them more accountable.
TRS shall also make its efforts to ensure that no other political outfit comes up in Telangana in the next assembly elections to spilt the votes. As per the political pundits there is a potential scope for building up the anti-incumbency factor and provide an alternative political party to vote for in the next assembly elections. Some of the TRS MLAs are also agreeing to this possibility in their private conversations.
