Spar among power staff escalates; TEEJAC asks AP natives to go. Raghu said the AP power utilities had failed to finalise the guidelines for final allocation of their employees as mandated by APRA (AP Reorganisation Act) - 2014. The AP utilities also refused to take employees who are allocated to AP by Telangana power utilities.

Hyderabad: A day after the AP State Electricity Board (APSEB) Engineers Association lodged a complaint with Governor ESL Narasimhan against issuing relieving orders to the employees of Telangana power utilities with AP nativity, Telangana Electricity Employees’ Joint Action Committee (TEEJAC) on Tuesday demanded AP power utilities to absorb all the relieved employees immediately.

A delegation led by TEEJAC coordinator K Raghu met the Governor and submitted a memorandum urging the latter to issue necessary instructions to power utilities to join into services all the relieved employees without any further delay. The delegation also requested to relieve all the native employees of Telangana State working with AP power utilities immediately to enable them to join TS power utilities.

Raghu said the AP power utilities had failed to finalise the guidelines for final allocation of their employees as mandated by APRA (AP Reorganisation Act) - 2014. The AP utilities also refused to take employees who are allocated to AP by Telangana power utilities.

The TEEJAC leader pointed out that Section 82 of the Reorganisation Act was applicable to State Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), corporations and other autonomous bodies which mandated to determine the modalities for distributing the personnel between the two successor States within a period of one year.

Subsequently, Telangana utilities relieved ‘non local’ employees on June 10, as a final step in the division of employees between two States. He said the failure of AP utilities in not finalising the modalities for final allocation of employees had resulted in hardship for employees who were relieved by TS power utilities and those who are supposed to be finally allocated to TS utilities from AP. However, the AP officials were trying to malign TS power utilities to cover up their failure, Raghu said.
