MLA Elvis Stephenson, who is in the news over the cash-for-vote case in his statement before the ACB revealed the sequence of events that led to the arrest of TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy.According to Stephenson, J Mattaiah telephoned him on May 28 and discussed about the MLC elections. He invited him to attend a function at Basheerbagh on May 30.

Hyderabad: MLA Elvis Stephenson, who is in the news over the cash-for-vote case in his statement before the ACB revealed the sequence of events that led to the arrest of TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy.According to Stephenson, J Mattaiah telephoned him on May 28 and discussed about the MLC elections. He invited him to attend a function at Basheerbagh on May 30.


A little around 10 am on May 28, Mattaiah met Stephenson and briefed him that Revanth Reddy had sent him. Mattaiah told him that if he keeps away from MLC elections, he would be paid Rs 2 crore and would also get air tickets for a foreign trip. He also introduced Sebastian to him.

Stephenson went on to say that on May 29, Sebastian called him on phone and said that Revanth Reddy would deal with the issue. He was also told that if he votes for the TDP member he would be paid Rs 5 crore. They also promised to give him nominated MLAs post in AP Legislative Council.


Stephenson said he told Sebastian that he would let his decision be known later. He said at this stage he gave a written complaint to Director-General of ACB.Stephenson further stated that on May 30, Sebastian called him again on phone and informed him that he along with Revanth would meet him. By that time audio video recording arrangements with the help of Iphone were fixed. According to Stephenson, Sebastian also promised to take him to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu.


But the meeting did not take place. However, Sebastian made Stephenson talk to Naidu over phone saying that he was busy in meetings. Naidu told Stephenson that he would take care of everything. On May 31, Sebastian said he along with Revanth would meet him but not at his residence.


Stephenson said he then suggested that they can meet at his friend’s Malcom Taylors place. Interestingly, Stephenson is learnt to have briefed the Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao about all these details when he met KCR at his camp office.
