Speaking to media persons, after meeting the TPCC chief outside his residence in Banjara Hills, she expressed surprise at the news reports, that she would be joining TRS and the Congress leadership was thinking of her suspension. Making clear that she has no objection, if the party appoints new in-charge of Secunderabad segment, she hoped to serve the party in a better way.

“I know there are no boundaries to art and language, she clarified and added that she would work for Congress success, not just in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, but all over Hyderabad and Telangana State,”. While asserting that she would be more focused on Secunderabad constituency, the veteran actress also refuted differences with former Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy.

“I will take part in the campaign for GHMC elections across the City and more concentration will be given to Secunderabad constituency,” she added. The 2014 election result was a special case as sentiments were running high at that time. “I don’t consider it to be reflection on the work of the Congress Party or a reflection on her performance in the constituency as an MLA.

Uttam Kumar said she will continue in the party and would serve the party as per convenience both in Telangana and AP. There is no truth in the reports that she would quit Congres party. “She is a loyal Congress party leader and we will utilise her services in any way it is deemed fit,” he said.
