Tandur (Ranga Reddy): Group clashes between the supporters of former MLA M Narayana Rao and ex-chairman of DCCB Lakshma Reddy marred the Congress party organisational elections here on Monday. When Rao said the elections were being held in response to the TPCC directive, former town party president Srinivas Chary and Apu staked claim, saying the posts should be given to them.

This led to heated arguments between their supporters. Town SI Khaled along with a posse of policemen intervened and dispersed the clashing supporters, amid raising of slogans against Rao. Both the groups hurled abuses at their rivals. Calm was restored after Reddy intervened and issued an appeal.
