In a shocking incident, a 9-year-old girl named Aswitha succumbed to death on Thursday morning in Karimnagar after she was punished for not completing her homework.

The girl was punished by her Mathematics teacher and was made to kneel down for several hours on July 16. She collapsed after developing a blood clot which affected her circulation and succumbed to death on Thursday morning.
While no official complaint has been registered against the school authorities, the agitated family members and students unions reached the school and ransacked the school.
