The Congress Legislature Party on Sunday has decided to shed its soft approach towards the 14-month old TRS government and take a step against the controversial decisions of the government. A political approach has been decided to fight against the government instead of maintaining silence whenever Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao raises over the Congress government’s irrigation projects.
The Congress Legislature Party held a meeting on Sunday where the government was asked to call an Assembly session immediately to discuss all the controversial decisions of the government including water grid, non-implementation of election promises and also the drought-like situation in the state.
The Assembly that was adjourned on March 29 will meet again before expiry of the six-month period on September 28. Several Congress MLAs at the meeting condemned the soft attitude of party leader K Jana Reddy towards TRS in the Assembly. Also, he was asked to speed up the decisions on disqualification petitions submitted regarding the defection of five Congress legislators to the TRS with Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary.
The meeting also included decisions on Pranahita-Chevella project and changes in the designs of the Polavaram Dam in order to protect the interests of Telangana, mainly Khammam district.
