Warangal: Even though the state government has been initiating measures to protect girls and women, the latter were falling victims of wrath of those associated with police department. In a shocking incident that took place in Hanamkonda on Monday, the wife of an additional SP rank officer has displayed her ‘power’ on an M Tech student and beaten her up publicly.
The mistake committed by the student, Ch Sindhuja, the daughter of Vidaysagar of Teachers' Colony, Waddepally was coming in the way of the car in which the police official’s wife was travelling. The woman in question was identified as Sridevi. According to the sources, Sindhuja went to pick up her sister from a college in Waddepally and parked her scooter on a road near the college.
The wife of ASP, who was going on the road in a four- wheeler found scooter obstructing her vehicle. Even as Sindhuja was about to remove the vehicle from the path, the furious woman got down from the car and thrashed the girl hurling abuses at will while claiming that she was wife of a police officer and even flaunted her hubby’s ID card.
When the passersby tried to stop her she even abused them and snatched the college bag of Sindhuja's sister. Following this, Sindhuja’s father lodged a complaint with Subedari police. Subedari CI Narendar informed that he had received a complaint but has not confirmed whether they had registered a case or not in connection with the incident. However, it was learnt that the police did not register case as efforts were being made to settle the issue through a ‘compromise’ with the complainant by the accused.
