Hyderabad: Unleashing a scathing attack on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, leaders of various political parties in the State on Tuesday lashed out the former for his alleged non-performance and dictatorial style of functioning.

Speaking to media persons, former MP from Karimnagar Ponnam Prabhakar alleged that the Chief Minister had left the governance to the wind. Both Chandrashekar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu were wasting precious time to criticise each other, he said and alleged that Chandrashekar Rao had abstained from the Secretariat for the last 50 days.

Ponnam asked how such a Chief Minister would rule the State. Stating that Chandrashekar Rao had misused his office by making impossible assurances to the people, Ponnam said the day when people of the State would teach him a fitting lesson was not far away. Another Congress leader and Jagtial MLA T Jeevan Reddy said Chandrashekar Rao had no moral right to continue in office.

The Chief Minister failed to construct a single double-bedroom house even after completing one year in office. The TRS government also failed to clear pending bills of Indiramma houses till date, he alleged. CPM Telangana State secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram alleged that Chandrashekar Rao was ruling the State as a dictator.

“Chandrashekar Rao said something before the elections and saying something else after he was elected to power,” he alleged and lamented that Chandrashekar Rao removed from service the GHMC workers, who agitated for salary hike, which was unprecedented.

Telangana TDLP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao sarcastically said Chandrashekar Rao could not fulfill his election promises even after 25 years. Stating that Chandrashekar Rao rode to power by showing heaven in the hand, Errabelli wondered at the statement of the Chief Minister that he would change the cities in Telangana on par with New York and Singapore.

Another TDP leader Addanki Dayakar accused Chandrashekar Rao of taking all anti-people policies. Meanwhile, addressing the media at NTR Trust Bhavan here, TDP politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy alleged that K Chandrasekhar Rao never thought about the poor even after 14 months of his rule.

He said five lakh houses under Indiramma Housing scheme were yet to be completed due to non-availability of funds. The TRS government had not made any payment to complete the construction of Indiramma houses due to which construction of houses under the schemes was pending.

The people had voted TRS to power believing its promises. But Chandrashekar Rao was deceiving them by not fulfilling his election promises, he alleged. He said out of Rs 1,000 crore allotted for housing in 2014-15 budget, only 12 crore had been spent so far.
