Nizamabad: Minister for Power G Jagadeesh Reddy here on Saturday said the government would provide free power supply for nine hours to farmers a day from next March. The government is now supplying free power to farmers for seven hours a day.


Laying foundation stone for 10 sub-stations of 33/11 kv in Balkonda constituency in the district, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 15 crore, the Minister said the government would provide a nine-hour uninterrupted power supply to farmers from next March.


Balkonda MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy and others participated. Jagadeesh Reddy accused the previous governments, headed by Andhra rulers, and had ruined the power sector. The Telangana State would become power surplus in next three years.
