National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Ramagundam, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, has extended financial support worth Rs 70 lakh to the Satavahana University for the construction of a new building for its Business School at the Post- Graduation centre in Godavarikhani in the district.

Karimnagar: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Ramagundam, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, has extended financial support worth Rs 70 lakh to the Satavahana University for the construction of a new building for its Business School at the Post- Graduation centre in Godavarikhani in the district.


In the first phase, NTPC authorities gave Rs 30 lakh six months ago and the remaining Rs 40 lakh was handed over to the university authorities on last Saturday. According to estimates, the total cost of the building is Rs 1.20 crore. Out of that, NTPC came forward to contribute Rs 70 lakh while the university has been making arrangements for the remaining Rs 50 lakh.


The construction of the new building was started at the PG centre in Godavarikhani PG centre and it would be completed in the coming four months. Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Vice-Chancellor of Satavahana University Dr Janardhan Reddy said that providing infrastructure, quality education and other facilities in the universities was possible only with the finance support extended by private and public corporations.


The NTPC authorities handed over the cheque to the university authorities. Former VC Veera Reddy, Registrar Komal Reddy and others were present.
