While the senior BJP leader unleashed a scathing attack on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, TRS leaders hit back saying he was indulging in mud-slinging

Hyderabad: Senior BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s one-man crusade against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government seems to have stirred a hornets’ nest on Wednesday. While giving a call to the people to unite for the cause of Telangana State, Nagam made it clear that his main aim was to safeguard the interests of the State.

But TRS leaders D Vinay Bhaskar and K Prabhakar pooh-poohed his good intentions and said the BJP leader’s fight was just for political gain. Addressing the media at his ‘Bachao Telangana Mission’ office at Basheerbagh here on Wednesday, Nagam demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao withdraw his cheap liquor idea immediately.

He asked the Chief Minister whether the people would not be affected by consuming cheap liquor. He asked the Chief Minister, who was mulling to demolish the old buildings to construct new buildings for hospital and other purposes, why he was not taking note of farmers’ suicides.

He said Telangana Bachao Mission would fight for the implementation of KG-to-PG free education scheme, focus on drought conditions and farmers’ suicide issues and made it clear that all the way the Telangana Bachao Mission would fight against the anti-people policies of the TRS government.

Alleging that the TRS government was wasting public money, Nagam asked the Chief Minister if making members of other political parties join TRS was not undemocratic.

He alleged that the Ministers had become dummies in the Chandrashekar Rao government. He alleged that the Chief Minister had changed his convoy of cars three times and made the surplus State a poor State.

Meanwhile, TRS leaders D Vinay Bhaskar and K Prabhakar came down heavily on Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Congress leader D K Aruna for making malicious comments against the government.

Taking a jibe at the Opposition leaders for coming in the way of development and the previous Congress government for failing in all fronts, ignoring the plight of poor, welfare and development of backward and minority classes in the State, the TRS leaders claimed that they were in favour of the welfare of SC, ST, BC and Minorities.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, the TRS leaders expressed serious discontent over the two leaders not digesting the developmental works and welfare schemes being implemented in the State.

Through his ‘Bachao Telangana Mission’ (Save Telangana Mission) Nagam was resorting to mud-slinging activity to blame the government only for political gain, they alleged.

Ridiculing Nagam for chanting Telangana mantra only after he was hit by students at Osmania University during the Statehood movement, they sought to know whether the BJP extended support to Nagam’s Mission.

The TRS leaders fumed at Nagam for accusing Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of failing to develop the State, misuse of funds by changing his convoy for three times, reducing the rich State to poor condition, making controversy of nativity and reduction of funds for welfare schemes.

The government was implementing many welfare schemes to bring back the deprived and poor classes into the mainstream, they pointed out. They condemned Aruna’s comments of land grabbing in Chandrashekar Rao’s home district of Medak.

Aruna was making mindless remarks against the Chief Minister, they said. People would teach her a fitting lesson for leading misinformation campaign against the welfare schemes, they warned.
