SCHOOL LEADERS CONVENTION GETS UNDERWAY
Hyderabad: The second annual three-day School Leaders (Principals & Special Officers) convention of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society, Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas commencedat Telangana State Institute of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (TSIPARD) in Rajendra Nagar here on Thursday.

Addressing the convention after inaugurating it, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Education Kadiyam Srihari said, “During the meeting of Education Ministers of all the states organised by the Union Human Resource Development Ministry in New Delhi recently, I had suggested the concept of Telangana Social Residential Education system to be extended to all other states in the country to reap good results and curb the dropout rate of girl child.”
The Minister said that more and more families were sending their wards especially girls to residential schools for quality education and better security. Referring to ‘KG to PG free education’ programme, Kadiyam Srihari said that the government would implement it from class V to XII from the next academic year. The government already chalked out a plan to give quality English medium education to the students.
“In the areas of pre-primary, primary and higher education, we need to further work on. Meanwhile, residential schools for class V to XII will be implemented at least from next academic year,” he added. Principal Secretary to Government of Telangana, SC Development Department, Raymond Peter said, “The government was motivating the people on three essential points of free schooling, preventing drop-outs, and reducing illiteracy in the state.
I am delighted over the pooling of TSWREIS, TTWREIS and KGBVs for the school leaders training.” TSWREI Society Secretary RS Praveen Kumar appealed to the Minister to look into enhancement of salaries for the part-time employees and health cards to employees of all the societies. The convention would conclude on Saturday.
