Hyderabad: Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Friday accused the Telangana State government of endangering the lives and health of poor people by promoting cheap liquor.
Speaking to media persons on the Assembly premises here, Sudhakar Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao had a secret agenda in promoting cheap liquor in the State.
The ruling party leaders were expecting huge kickbacks by issuing licences for cheap liquor outlets, he alleged. He warned that the Congress party would launch a massive agitation against the new liquor policy.
The Congress leader also advised the Chief Minister to take opposition parties into confidence before implementing decisions on key issues like change in design of Pranahita-Chevella project. He said all those issues were matters of public interest, he said.
