Hyderabad: The PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday pulled up Mahbubnagar SP P Vishwa Prasad for his behaviour in the court. The bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice SV Bhatt was dealing with a public interest writ petition filed by Watch – Voice of the People alleging illegal mining activity in the district.

The bench had earlier called for the presence of the SP for a report on the action taken to stop the illegal mining. The bench passed caustic comments when it found that the SP did not remove the hat but continued to be present in the court hall. The bench, directing the SP to take stringent action on those involved in the illegal mining, adjourned the matter by two weeks.

The bench had called for a report from the SP and expressed its disappointment at the way the issue was handled. It wanted the real kingpins to be apprehended.
