409 farmers committed suicide in Telangana, admits KCR govt

The Telangana Government admitted that 409 farmers had committed suicide from June 2, 2014, to June 24 this year in Telangana. This means at least one farmer is ending life everyday in the state.

Shockingly, four farmers committed suicide on Wednesday itself from Khammam, Karimnagar and Medak districts.

As per GO 421, the Government has extended compensation to only 141 farmers so far.

Dismissing the Government's numbers, the Congress party alleged that as many as 1,300 farmers had committed suicide in the state.

TDP politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said that 1,182 farmers have ended their lives till date.
