Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said that the Telangana State government wanted to give equal opportunities to the educated youth belonging to minority communities and wanted them to go for higher studies.

Speaking after inaugurating the Study Circle for Minority Students at Jamia Nizamia Complex at Abids here, Mahmood Ali said that students who were competent enough for taking up competitive examinations would be selected for free coaching at Study Circle.

He said, “The study circle will provide quality training for the selected students who wanted to opt for competitive examinations. The eligible candidates will be trained on par with other reputed study circles to empower the community educationally.”

He said that the State government supported the students opting for higher education in foreign universities and 210 such students were given a financial assistance.

Minorities Welfare Department Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel said that the establishment of Study Circle by the State government was a milestone and it would open the gates of opportunities for competent students.

Study Circle Director J L B Haripriya said that it would work like other study circles already in function under Backward Classes Welfare department in the state.

The State government stipulated certain guidelines for the study centre, she said adding that the selection process would be similar to that of BC Welfare study circles and notification to that effect would be released by the first week of the next month.

“We are working towards developing our website and hiring the required staff at the study centre. Several works are underway simultaneously. As soon as we make ourselves ready, we will issue a notification,” she said.

“Though we are not going to conduct online screening test for the applying candidates, it would be adopted at a later stage once the needed infrastructure is ready,” she observed.

The circle would hire the expert faculty from reputed institutions and there would be free coaching for Groups examinations that would held by Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).

The study circle has three lecture halls with a capacity of accommodating 50 students in each and one library.
