CPI condemns paint attack on Kulkarni

Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary K Narayana on Monday condemned the paint smearing attack on Sudheendra Kulkarni, Chairman of Observer Research Foundation, by Shiv Sena party activists. In a press release on Monday, he said that attack on Kulkarni, Chairman of Observer Research Foundation, was a blot on freedom of speech.

He said the incident demonstrated the failure on the part of the BJP-led NDA government to curb such acts. In fact, the Sangh parivar had fostered fissiparous tendencies, he said. Narayana stressed the need to curb such tendencies. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not learnt lessons though several writers protested and returned their Sahitya Academy awards, he said.
