Hyderabad: A patient’s attendant was reportedly injured at the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) after a portion of the ceiling in the orthopedic ward crumbled in the wee hours of Monday.

The hospital officials however denied any injuries to anyone and claimed that only a small patch of the roof had crumbled and that too near a patient.

Responding to the incident, Telangana Government Doctors Association Honorary President, Dr Bongu Ramesh urged the government to immediately release funds for the proposed shifting of OGH to avoid fatalities.

The government had earlier planned to attach OGH’s orthopedic ward to the King Koti Hospital. However, lack of funds for shifting the department was reportedly delaying the process.
