The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has increased the fee for both first year and second year examination.
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has increased the fee for both first year and second year examination.
Till last academic year, students, who used to pay Rs 300, now have to pay Rs 362 towards their annual examination fee. This means, the Board has enhanced Rs 62 in comparison with the last academic year. Besides the annual examination fee, students have to pay Rs 100 towards their practical examinations.
With the enhancement, a student has to cough up Rs 462 for appearing for the annual exams. The decision of the Board comes in as the remuneration for paper evaluation for teachers is due for this academic year. And also, the Board spends more than what it gets through the examination fee.
According to the Board officials, on an average Board spends Rs 450 per student for conducting examination till the announcement of results. However, till now it was charging fewer amounts.
“The amount collected through affiliation fee and others fee were spent on the examination. In wake of government enhancing PRC for the employees and also remuneration for paper evaluation for teachers is due; the board has no option left other than increasing the fee.
The enhancement is minimal,” an official of Board said. First year and second year of regular students, failed candidates (general and vocational) can pay examination fee without late fee from October 19 to November 18.
The candidates can also pay with a late fee of Rs 100 from November 19 to December 9, with late fee of Rs 500 from December 10 to 22, with late fee of Rs 1,000 from December 23 to January 6,
with late fee of Rs 2,000 from January 7 to January 22, with late fee of Rs 4,000 from January 23 to February 5 and with late fee of Rs 6,000 from February 6 to 25.
