The Chief Minister sought allocation of more IAS officials to cater to the needs of Telangana as per the AP Re-organisation Act

New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao pitched for the immediate bifurcation of the High Court as per the AP Reorganisation Act.

The Chief Minister, who is on a three-day visit to the national capital and met with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday, discussed various issues related to the state. TRS MPs Jithender Reddy, B Vinod Kumar and DGP Anurag Sharma were with the CM.

It is likely that the Centre will soon take a final call on the bifurcation of the High Court after discussing the issue with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

“KCR has made a fervent appeal to the Union Home Minister about the necessity of the bifurcation of the High Court. We have also sought allocation of IAS officials to cater to the needs of Telangana as per the AP Reorganisation Act,” the MPs later told the media.

“We have discussed on the 9th and 10th Schedules of the Act and the staff allocation issues between the two states. The Chief Minister also sought release of funds for the roads,” they said.

The Telangana government has already given its consent to the Centre about having its own High Court separately if the existing High Court was allotted to Andhra Pradesh. It may be noted that the Centre had asked the Andhra Pradesh government to come out clearly whether it wanted to have a separate court in the new capital or the Hyderabad High Court.

KCR also called on President Pranab Mukherjee and invited him to attend the Chandi Yagam to be held at his farmhouse at Erravelli village in Medak district between December 23 and 27. Earlier, he had also invited the Prime Minister for the Yagam.
