TS, AP Chief Secys meet, discuss issues

Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart I Y R Krishna Rao held a review meeting on how to resolve several pending issues between the two States. While the Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary requested his counterpart to expedite payment of Rs 1,000 crore power bill that was due, Telangana CS, on the other hand, reminded Rao about the issue of investment bonds that were made in the power sector to the tune of Rs 1,100 crore in the united AP. The TS CS is learnt to have agreed to release Rs 150 crore per month.

The two Chief Secretaries also discussed the issue of Schedule X institutions, under which the AP government had raised the issues of Telugu University and Dr BR Ambedkar Open University, for which the TS agreed to extend its services as it has been doing now. Similarly, both the Chief Secretaries discussed the funds share of Andhra Pradesh Labour Welfare Board. The TS Chief Secretary said, “It is only a reconciliation meeting between the two States that took place in a cordial manner.”
