Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to suspend former Congress MP Sircilla Rajaiah from the party following the mysterious death of his daughter-in-law Sarika and her
three sons. The issue of Rajaiah’s suspension figured at an emergency meeting of the TPCC leaders at Nagarjunasagar where the TPCC had organised a seminar on “Nehru Views on India” in connection with 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The TPCC leaders, who consulted the AICC, finally came to the conclusion that in the larger interest of the party’s image, Rajaiah should be suspended.
An official announcement is likely on Friday. During the meeting that took place before the seminar, majority of the leaders felt that it would be better for the party if it suspends Rajaiah. While a few others felt that it may be premature to suspend him since there has been no concrete evidence against Rajaiah. Suspension of Rajaiah would augur that the party accepting his role in the ghastly incident.
