Farmers Day at IIRR today
The Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR) is organising the Farmers’ Day on Saturday at Rajendranagar premises.
Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR) is organising the Farmers’ Day on Saturday at Rajendranagar premises. About 600 rice farmers from the Telangana State will take active part in this mega event. Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattareya will be the chief guest at the function.
K Swami Goud, Chairman, Telangana Legislative Council, T Prakash Goud, MLA, Rajendranagar, and C Parthasarathy, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, are the guests of honour.
The IIRR has been playing a key role in developing sustainable rice production technologies to enhance the productivity, livelihood, resource and input use efficiency and profitability of rice cultivation without adversely affecting the agricultural environment.
The Indian institute of Rice Research will display the profitable and sustainable rice technologies to the farmers at the function. The IIRR rice variety improved Samba Mahsuri sample seed pockets will be given to all the farmers at a nominal price of Rs 10, according to officials.
