Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday fulfilled the election promise by signing a file to consider the period of Sakalajanula Samme as earned leave for the government employees.
Sakalajanula Samme that took place when the agitation for separate Telangana was at its peak had created history as all government employees had abstained work and participated in the agitation.
During the elections that followed the bifurcation of the state, the TRS had promised that they would treat the strike period as leave. According to sources the state government would soon issue a GO.
