Hyderabad City Police carried out surprise checks across the city on Tuesday as Intelligence Bureau (IB) alert was issued at public places regarding possible Islamic State terror attacks. Instructions were given to cops by senior officials on keeping surveillance at highly populated commercial and residential areas, places of worship, bus and railway stations.

On Tuesday morning, a search was conducted by South Zone police at Chandrayangutta and Kanchanbagh areas. Cops grilled 67 Myanmar nationals and 12 persons from Assam working as labourers over their daily activities at Cblock of Kanchanbagh, Ghouse Nagar of Chandrayangutta and Hafeez-Baba Nagar during the search operation. Cops collected finger prints of 40 persons who didn't hold identity proofs and seized 49 bikes, five autos.

Raiding the Old Rose Garden function hall in Ghouse Nagar, the cops seized two DCM vans loaded with beef parcels and bones of cattle. A gutkha manufacturing unit at RK Function hall, Chandrayangutta was raided where the police seized gutkha packets and huge quantity of pan masala. North Zone police while checking the vehicles at Minister Road, found Rs 25 lakh cash with two persons and Central Zone police seized 1.1 Kg gold at Liberty X Roads.
