Hyderabad: Experts of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) said here on Thursday that a final decision on performing surgery to separate conjoined twins - Veena and Vaani - would be taken only after conducting tests on them.

A team of AIIMS doctors visited the Niloufer Hospital and reviewed the condition of Veena and Vaani. They said the twins could be separated through five surgeries.

However, the surgeries could be performed only after conducting necessary tests at the AIIMS. They said both the twins are healthy, active and intelligence.

They said they would hold consultations with doctors before carrying out surgery on the twins. They have turned 12 years and have been under the care of the doctors in Niloufer Hospital.
