Zonal Railway Training Institute celebrates 43rd annual day
Hyderabad: The Zonal Railway Training Institute, Moula Ali celebrated its 43rd Annual Day today at it premises.
SCR General Manager Ravindra Gupta, Chief Operations Manager J N Jha and Chief Commercial Manager G. Laxminarayan participated in the function. Several Principal Heads of Departments, Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manger/ Hyderabad Division, faculties and trainees attended the function in large number.
Addressing the gathering, Ravindra Gupta stated that the Zonal Railway Training Institute, Moula Ali is o¬ne of the premier traffic training institutes of Indian Railways. Indian Railways is in the forefront of providing quality transportation to the nation and has become the backbone of the economy. He expressed his happiness ZRTI institute has developed the wherewithal and is fully ready to meet the training needs of the personnel of SCR.
Modern technology and economic philosophy underscore the need to provide cheap transport. Indian Railways is moving parallel in this direction to reduce the unit cost of transportation and ensure high pay load capacity transportation of passenger and goods.

Ravindra Gupta further appreciated ZRTI for its new initiatives of developing INQUIZITIVE- a computer generated interactive Quiz o¬n the operating and commercial subjects for the trainees; SAMCHITA- a trainee resource programme and a Simulator for station masters for getting o¬n field exposure. The General Manager released a CD containing training material in animated format and annual training schedule of ZRTI for the year 2016.
Jha, while addressing the gathering, said that ZRTI, through its excellent training programmes, was able to develop the trainees into whole disciplined railway professionals who in turn contributed to the outstanding safety and operational performance of SCR.
G. Laxminarayana, stated that apart from Human resource development, ZRTI plays a pivotal role in imparting essential soft skills such as positive attitude, customer care, courtesy and inter-personal communication to the trainees which goes a long way in ensuring satisfactory service delivery to the customers.
Ramesh Babu, Principal, ZRTI, while presenting the annual report of the ZRTI has stated that ZRTI utilises its resources fully so that the system gets maximum benefit. The utilisation of the institute has been o¬n an increasing trend with 79.2 per cent in 2012-13 and 109.9 per cent in 2013-14 and 107 per cent in 2014-15. He informed that around 1,000 newly selected Assistant Loco Pilots are expected to take training at ZRTI from February, 2016. Further he stated that during 2014, ZRTI conducted 110 training courses and trained 3,500 railway personnel such as Asst. station Master.
Ravindra Gupta presented medals and Certificates of merit to the toppers in various training programmes.
